According to US Federal Reserve’s commentary on current economic conditions, consulting and advertising contacts within Boston reported a strong first quarter of 2013 and were positive about their firms’ recent performance and near-term outlook. They noted an uptick in growth due to clients in stronger financial positions and with more money to spend.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that professional and technical workers will have the most job openings overall, with these specific workers accounting for over 32 percent of the state’s workforce by 2016, including many of these workers residing within the Boston area. The economy in Boston is stronger than many others in the nation, with the unemployment rate 14 percent lower than the national rate.
