Julie Burrows, Social Entrepreneur Career Coach

Julie-BurrowsJulie Burrows’ first career was in corporate marketing. After getting her math degree from Wellesley and her MBA from Harvard, she worked her way up to VP/Officer at Pillsbury. She was known as a new products expert and her teams launched Funfetti, Toaster Strudel, and Grands Biscuit line items. She also managed the Doughboy and made over 50 ads for this character. After leaving Pillsbury, she consulted on marketing and digital product launches through her company, Burrows Product Results.

In 2013 she felt a calling to help young people find work. She co-founded the nonprofit UpTurnships to create more paid internships for under-resourced college students. The program provides over twenty days of training on business fundamentals and job search skills. Julie is passionate about networking and seeing exciting connections between young people and employers. She is honored to have worked with 53 of Minnesota’s finest young people to help launch their careers. She hopes to work with many more as UpTurnships grows!


Susan-RylanceSusan Rylance, Sales and Marketing Executive

Susan led the strategic marketing efforts for Atterro and its six specialty staffing brands. During her time as the SVP of marketing and talent acquisition she led and oversaw several rebrands, created an overall digital strategy, and developed a lead generation strategy, which led to 15% higher conversation rates year-over-year. During her spare time you can find her SCUBA diving in Cozumel, backpacking, canoeing, or watching her daughter’s hockey games or cross country meets.

Owner of Opt In Media & Marketing, Pete is a media and marketing leader who facilitates the integration of brand strategy, creative messaging, and consumer engagement through all media platforms. He enjoys the challenge of leveraging the appropriate media to target the right consumers at the right time in order to build brands and spur consumer action. A true client partner, Pete has a history of navigating multifaceted organizations with numerous objectives and ensuring that plans and projects are aligned on local, regional, and national levels.


Kathy-BuggyKathy Buggy, Executive Director

Kathy is the executive director of the Advertising Federation (AdFed), a 110+ year old trade association that serves the Minnesota advertising community: agencies, advertisers, suppliers, and students. Ad Fed hosts 20+ events each year including The Show, 32 Under 32, Silver Medal/Northbest, Student Ad Summit, and the Women’s Leadership Panel. Kathy’s background is in event management, public relations, sales, and volunteer coordination. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota with degrees in public relations and political science.


Sarah-KlukasSarah Klukas, Director of Creative Operations

Sarah is the director of creative operations at Aveda and has worked there for 11 years. She started as an intern when the team was still considered “design planning” and the creative team was located in New York. She has been a part of many changes to team structures and process evolutions throughout the years. A Minnesota native, Sarah loves to be with friends and family exploring, hiking, and watching as many Twins baseball games as she can.


Chris-StewartChris Stewart, Sr. User Experience Designer

Chris has over 20 years of design experience working with major companies on the corporate in-house department and agency side. Chris successfully operated his own interactive design shop and has been able to produce over 30 websites for small and large business. He combines visual design with UI to create a positive experience for users.
