Writer / Speechwriter
6-Month Contract, with possibility of extending
Hybrid – Downtown Chicago | 3 Days Onsite/Week
Medical Association

Digital People is hiring a Writer / Speechwriter to support our client, a well-established medical association. This role is ideal for a strong writer who enjoys research, interviewing, storytelling, and executive communications.

What You’ll Do

  • Research, conduct interviews, and write long-form content for publications and newsletters.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop story ideas, outlines, and final content.
  • Write and adapt speeches and presentations for leadership.
  • Tailor messaging and storytelling to different executive voices and audiences.
  • Provide light PowerPoint design support, creating a foundation that can be polished by graphic designers.
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Portfolio
  • Strong writing, editing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with speechwriting and/or executive communications.
  • Good organization and project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
